Let the Drums Roll ©1976 by Marise Parrish Lightfoot is the product of the culmination of research she conducted as a bicentennial project primarily to rescue from oblivion and identify veterans of the American Revolution who settled in Maury County, Tennessee, in what was then the western frontier. 
Besides names and years of service in the American Revolution, information on their personal lives before and after the Revolutionary War is included, as well as county records, pension records, local histories, and more. Ultimately the names of 192 men who apparently aided in the cause of American Independence and who settled in Maury County were uncovered and are included within these covers.
